Performance Roofing and Painting Partner with Nonprofit to Support Foster Youth
At Performance Painting and Performance Roofing, we believe in giving back to our community. Recently, we had the privilege of joining hands with a valued customer to support a local nonprofit organization in McKinney called Direction 61:3. Today, we want to share with you the story of our collaboration and the impact it has had on the lives of foster youth in our area.
The Need for Support in McKinney
Direction 61:3 is a nonprofit ministry dedicated to helping youth who are aging out of foster care. Their mission is to provide support and resources to young people between the ages of 14 to 24, aiming to prevent homelessness, trafficking, and incarceration. Understanding the vital role that facilities play in serving foster youth, Direction 61:3 sought assistance to refurbish their gathering place, a farm acquired in May of 2023.
Our Involvement
When Mrs. Patterson, a longtime supporter of Direction 61:3 and a customer of ours, brought the organization’s needs to our attention, we knew we wanted to help. Rachael’s company generously donated towards the project, and Performance Roofing and Painting matched that donation. Together, we embarked on a journey to provide much-needed repairs and improvements to the property at cost, allowing more of the nonprofit’s funds to directly benefit the youth they serve.
The Painting and Restoration Project
Our team began by removing the gutters, which revealed extensive carpentry work that needed attention. Additionally, we addressed the lower and upper half of the building for painting, where previous volunteer efforts had left some areas unpainted due to height limitations. By bundling these tasks together, we aimed to create a comprehensive solution to enhance the property and ensure its longevity for the benefit of Direction 61:3 and the youth they support.
